Tejas Networks bets big on Digital India
Bengaluru-based telecom gear organization Tejas Networks has created optical and information organizing items that will be utilized for undertakings for 'Computerized India' and in addition for building fast information arranges all inclusive.Talking to Deccan Herald, Tejas Networks MD and CEO Sanjay Nayak said, "Tejas is one of the vendors who is supplying GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Networks) equipment to the Government of India's initiative in building the national optical fibre network - Bharatnet, which plans to connect 2.5 lakh villages in the country through optical fibre and is a part of Digital India."
"This project is being funded by the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) of the government," he added.
"These data highways can provide many services to remote places, such as telemedicine, e-education, e-governance and ecommerce, among others, and can transform the economy. Worldwide, it has been accepted that often the amount of bandwidth needed is inversely proportional with a level of literacy and hence even people in villages will benefit from high bandwidth connectivity," he added.
